On this talk, we will introduce the notions of contact structures and branch coverings. We will see that contact structures can be lifted to the covering space when the branching set is transversal to the contact structure of the base space. This nice behavior between the contact structures and the branch coverings can lead us to a Universality Theory similar to the one on topological manifolds.
